Hubby Returns

Kevin is back from hanging out with the Canucks for two months. He left August 1st and returned September 30th. It was quite a long time to be with out him (even though I was able to visit for 3 weeks). I felt like I was lost for most of August. Didn't know what to do. Cried a lot for what felt like no reason at all. Sure, we may still be in that honeymoon phase, (but I think I would be this way in 5 years) but Kevin and I do almost everything together. Who knew that whole leave and cleave thing was actually true?

Kevin had an amazing experience working in Canada, and we got to do and see some pretty cool things while I was there; Toronto Jays game, Niagara Falls, Canadian Parliament, Cooperstown, New York, and more museums than Kevin cares to mention. It was nice to escape the heat of southern California for the beautiful, and occasionally, rainy, skies of eastern Canada.

September 17, 2009 - Part II

Day 48
It's Thursday, which means free museum night, so Kevin and I headed over to the Canadian War Museum. We were only there for a couple of hours so we kind of had to rush through. We skipped the part on the wars of the aboriginals; I don't really know much about Native Canadian Peoples. We skimmed though the wars on Canadian soil and moved on Canadians in Wars Around the World.
It was all really interesting but I forgot to start taking pictures until the World War II. Here are our random pics of the nights.
Did you know Canada had Japanese Internment Camps during WWII? They also interned Germans and Italians. I thought we were the only ones!
Here is one of the enigma machines used to send cryptic messages during the war.
Remember the enigma machine from the movie U-571? Gotta love the boys on a submarine.

I don't remember what this machine is called. It's a tank that shoots fire.

Another view.

The biggest torpedo I have ever seen.

A Jeep. The term Jeep probably derived from the term G.P. (Government of General Purposes).

Fun fact about the Internet origins during the Cold War.

Hysterical Canadian products.

I've heard of Captain America but have you ever heard of Captain Canuck. I didn't believe it at first so I googled it. Kinda interesting. I also learned that the term Canuck would be comparable to the modern term Yank or Yankee, which I was called all the time in England.

Fun trip even if we didn't see all of the trip.

Update

I am back at work today, September 22, 2009. I still have a couple of posts to do including our trip to New York. Hopefully I can wrap it all of tonight!
